In conjunction with the Appalachian Trail Festival in The Gap, the Town of Hillsboro and the Hillsboro Preservation Foundation present: Eat, Drink & Be Literary!—Secrets of The AT, featuring Appalachian Trail historian, intrepid hiker, and author of numerous books about America’s trails and public lands, Jeffrey H. Ryan.
Held at the Old Stone School in historic Hillsboro, Virginia, Eat, Drink, and Be Literary will kick off with light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by Ryan’s presentation at 7:00 p.m. In addition to having several books and several thousand miles of hiking under his belt, Jeffrey is an entertaining speaker who frequently appears in person and over the airwaves nationwide.
Ryan’s books, Appalachian Odyssey (about his 28-year section hike of the AT), Blazing Ahead (about how the trail was conceived and built), and his latest, This Land Was Saved for You and Me (a brief history of the creation of our public lands) will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
